This was a very fun project. It was hard to stay focused without any accountability, but this is what I trained for over LINK. The video we created was super fun to do because we got to hang out with friends and teach each other. I am not in any of the video because I am carrying stuff the whole time, acting out my job, “I may not be very smart, but I can lift heavy objects.” I think that I could have done better at talking to my group about what we should have done.
Stop Motion Animation Project
This project was pretty fun to make. In order to make this stop motion, we placed a camera on a tripod and took a lot of pictures. We then got the idea of a greeting and then a race scene on chairs. In reflection, I wish we had done this in a car. This would have eliminated the problem of students being in the background, and we would have had more quality film. I did like this project. The part that I didn't like is that our teacher is not teaching. We are simply being shown videos, and I am getting pissed off. However, it is a good way to be challenged, just not in the best way.
The self portrait project was all about creating a small image that could be used on anything so that we could use it on projects in the future. This project was good because I was able to use a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator. I first used a sketchbook, and then I traced in Photoshop, then in Illustrator. I also enjoyed the time I was able to spend actually in a sketchbook. I wish that I had learned better how to draw. My connection to my logo is the biker is modeled after me.
Project Objective: Create a self-portrait or develop a series of self portraits inspired by your personal and/or intellectual growth this year.
This project was super cool. Unlike the Teacher Creature, this project was challenging and teaching. I was taught how to download the worksheet, kinda like I was asking for in Teacher Creature. This project was also fun because I got to look at the difference between my face in one year. Because of the way that I was using the pen tool, the differences really were evident. I also thought it was awesome how my countenance changed. I had been trying to look intimidating and failing and now, I am simply being me. I think that I had to use problem solving skills by trying to stretch my face over to show the growth. The way that the work shows my perspective is interesting. I think that my perspective of myself has changed. I used to see myself as large and in charge, and I did a good job of showing how I thought of myself last year compared to this semester.
Teacher Creature V2
- Basic project description (what you did, steps you took)
- This was a project about using the refine edge tool in order to copy and paste different images to a background.
- Hardest part of the project and how you persevered through it
- The hardest part was editing the jeep in order for it to look realistic on the desert scape.
- What have you learned about your style as an artist? (Every Artist has a style like every artistic period has a style, What's yours???)
- I learned I like to work fast and not to take a long time on things. If I go too slow I get bored, so I developed a style of efficiency.
This was a fun project. I think that we were given way to much time on it. I spent 45 minutes creating the above and we were given 3 weeks of project work time. I think that I could have done better, but I got 116% with minimal effort. I think that it was review and that I was not taught anything new. I understand it is difficult for the class as a whole to be taught things by the teacher, but I feel like this is becoming necessary. Tutorials are great and all, but I would like to be actually taught by a teacher, not a you-tuber. I can look up a you-tuber in my free time. I do not go to school for YouTube. However, it was nice to have a not stressful project while all my other classes were crazy.
I overlaid the cracks onto the original photo.
Night Vision Tutorial
This was a cool project. I worked on a tutorial that my brother had done years ago and I was excited to recreate it. I also enjoyed the way that I was able to create a warzone. I also got critiques from my peers. I learned that the term, less is more, is very true. I found it out through the images above. If you obverse, the second image just looks the best. I think that this is because the AA guns are just to much. One of my favorite parts of the project were able to pull the AA guns out of a family picture of the battleship texas. I have used these skills a little bit with projects such as the Teacher Creature. However, I have never done a free rein in a project using these skills. My favorite part of the finished artwork is the way that the explosion worked out. I think it is beautiful and a good representation of a nuke through night vision goggles with a thermal overlay.
Create your own Art Project
This project was difficult to start on. Because I started the class in the middle of the project I had to start without a lot of instruction. Also, I did not really like my final project. I had an idea that I should draw a picture of the animas river and have the top of it be a lady screaming. I think that I would have had a lot easier of a time actually working on it because I could have used it at exhibition. That would have been a good way to make sure that I was intersested in the project. I have learned that in order to like school, I need to be working on stuff that is personal and close to my heart, Thus, I shouldn't be working on guitars, I should work on stuff that I like, such as mines.
